Washington and Dallas. That's all that needs to be said about this week's game. While the Redskins have been one of the NFL's worst teams through the first nine games of the season, they found a bit of confidence last week in a win over the Broncos and hope to parlay that into a streak against the Cowboys this week. There are a few undeniable truths about the NFL. One is that Dallas is an organization everyone loves to hate. Another is that Tony Romo collapses worse than Albert Haynesworth's sofa when the calendar approaches December. Here are some things to watch for during tomorrow's grudge match:

A funny thing happened in Landover yesterday. The proverbial cloud that’s been following the Redskins for the 2009 season seemed to lift a little, if only for one day. Jason Campbell was efficient, the defense overcame some adversity, and Ladell Betts returned to his 2006 form in a 27-17 shocker over the Denver Broncos.
Not much has gone right for the Redskins so far this season, but they managed to halt their losing ways for one week. Sure, having Kyle Orton leave the game at the end of the second quarter didn’t hurt, but it really was a team effort. More thoughts on the win after the jump.

Champ Bailey comes back to town for the first time since the notorious 2004 trade that sent the All-Pro to Denver along with a second-round pick in exchange for Clinton Portis. Portis has responded by posting the second-most rushing yards in franchise history, while Bailey has earned four more All-Pro nods as one of the most feared corners in the game.
Unfortunately for Redskins fans, Portis will have to sit this one out against his old team with a concussion. Enter 2006 rushing leader Ladell Betts and his fresh legs. Will a revamped rushing game be enough for the Redskins to hang with the 6-2 Broncos, or will Eddie Royal have his way against his hometown team? Get the stamps ready because we're mailing this one in a bit...

Deion Sanders might have said it best on NFL Network as the "highlight" reel ran, even his brand of classless, "I'm a cocky turd way." As Clinton Portis took a shot from Chevis Jackson, Prime Time simply yelled "night, night...he asleep." I'll ignore the fact that this joker has no business on television with his terrible grammar and know-it-all attitude in this case. He might have described exactly how we all feel about the Redskins' 2009 season. Maybe we all do need to go to sleep and pray it's a dream, or at least hibernate through the final eight games.

In my lifetime, I don’t know that I remember quite this much negativity swirling around Redskins Park at any given time. The Revolution has gained steam over the last week with drama over shirt/sign bans, mailed-in fan cards, organized protests, and John Riggins comments on HBO. As much as this all makes me want to crawl in a hole and wait out the rest of the season, we’ve got nine games left. Black heart or not, hit the jump for the low-down on the Dirty Birds of the A-T-L.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close. I hate you Suisham. I don't think I've ever rooted harder for us to miss a kick (clarification: I've never rooted for us to miss a kick), but last night you could have made me a genius. Your leg ruined my perfect 27-16 prediction. Jerk.
Just kidding around. We have to have a sense of humor in times like these, right? Onto the real gripes after the jump.

Tomorrow night will mark the first game against a winning team (and by winning, I mean WITH ANY WINS) that Redskins have played all season. Philadelphia is not exactly playing up to their potential, but their season still has a lot of hope, unlike ours. But they're the Eagles. They're from Philly. WE HATE PHILLY. I strongly considered giving up our tickets. I've never been a big Monday night fan. Yes, I know I'm speaking heresy, but driving to Landover from Manassas is a gigantic pain in the ass when you throw in DC traffic during rush hour. Alas, my fan heart outfought my brain on this one, and I just have to go. I cannot give up those seats, knowing that the stadium will probably be 60%, and half of those people will be Philthy fans. That just hurts. Luckily, the Eagles still haven't won a Super Bowl, and seem to have the worst NFC championship game record of all-time. So even though our organization in is in shambles, you still suck, and I will still talk trash. Na na na na na na. Heh heh heh heh heh heh (Cartman style).
The Redskins took full advantage of their long work week leading up to tomorrow night's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. Vinny Cerrato managed to take away Jim Zorns manhood, and then attempt to restore it days later. Chris Samuels retired, and then he didn't. What's next? Hopefully we all think we're going to get killed tomorrow night, and we'll win. Doubtful. Check out some keys to the game after the jump.

Well the name about sums it up, but here's a video my cousin Scott sent along to me with the tagline "I can't believe it's come to this." Me either buddy. Me either.

On Sunday evening, my dad, a longtime Redskins fan and season ticket holder (and guy that created the monster of fandom that is your resident blogger), sent me this email. Under normal circumstances, I would have been pissed off and maybe even sent back a smarmy response. However, these aren't normal circumstances we're dealing with as Redskins fans. Here are the contents of the aforementioned email:
