The Washington Nationals are finally looking to have decided that the time has come for them to make their mark on MLB now. It’s about time as well. The Nationals have started to climb the ladder and it looks as if they are here to stay for the long haul now.
The Nationals were incepted in the year 1969 as the Montreal Expos. The team didn’t get off a successful start and went on to hit more than one stumbling block during the first few years. It was in the year 1975 when they first began to make their presence felt. The Expos went on to win a whopping ninety five games that season, a record that was good enough to land them second spot in the division.
It was in 1981 that they really got the ball rolling. The franchise went on to clinch the division crown that year. What as we all know followed was another barren run unfortunately. The MLB decided to re-locate the team to Washington in the year 2005 to start a new era in the history of the team.
That move was the incarnation of the Washington Nationals we see today. It wasn’t plain sailing from that point onwards though. But they stuck at it and clinched their second division title in the year 2012. They looked to have carried on from there and have made more than just a decent start to their season after that. The signs are very much there that they will gain a momentum and go on to new heights. As baseball fans, all we can do is to wish them luck and support them every step of the way.
