Orange Crushed: Caps Win 8-2 E-mail

I guess I'll start this recap off with saying a 'Happy Birthday to me" considering that the Caps gave me a fun answer to my 24th birthday wish of a Flyers beatdown in Philly. They dominated from start to finish, with a little help from the oft-penalized Dan Carcillo, and ran away from the reeling Flyers and their new coach.

There are obviously quite a few things to like about this game, so I suppose I'll jump right in:

  • Dan Carcillo threw punches before Matt Bradley was able to even get his gloves off, hence the instigator penalty. For some reason, he thought that Brads' gloves were off, but obviously his reputation and ferocious tendencies killed his team tonight.
  • Speaking of which, the four power play goals were the most for the Caps this season in any single game. Overall, they moved the puck well and picked their spots. It's obvious to me that the Flyers are really missing Blair Betts.
  • Does any player take more beatdowns than Bradley for his team? These guys really seem to rally around him, and even more so if he loses blood. Everyone could be a little more like Matt Bradley.
  • Considering the huge offensive flurry, Tomas Fleischmann sent two big messages off of his stick blade with the most important goals of the night. Guess he didn't like all the slump talk.
  • Speaking of slumps, Mike Green tallied twice and retook the defensemen scoring lead by tacking on two extra assists. His pass to Stecks could not have been timed any better on the final goal.
  • Nick Backstrom loves scoring against the Flyers, and it seems like all of his goals against them are on the top of the crease. Four assists ain't too shabby either Nicky.
  • Somehow Mathieu Perreault managed to go -1, but his compete level is unreal. Those that think he's slumping aren't noticing the little things he's been doing out on the ice.
  • I don't know that I remember a less memorable 30+ save night out of a goalie, but Jose Theodore played a quietly confident game, and shut the door when needed. I like where your head is Theo...good game.
  • It makes me physically angry that Alex Giroux got 3:21 of power play time. We have enough Alex's on the NHL roster, thank you very much. Enjoy the bus back to Hershey when Ovi's suspension is up.
Kudos Go To:

Dave Steckel. How overdue was that goal?! And furthermore, seeing him celebrate like it was his first made it even better.

great victory. with the 'Skins game yesterday and another lackluster performance from the Wiz last night, the Caps are the only thing keeping my head above water.
i LOVE beating philly and beating them like that was just so sweet.
i also think Jurcina had a great game.
agreed about Perreault. i love the way the guy plays. i hope he sticks around all year.

Some time before, I really needed to buy a building for my business but I did not earn enough cash and couldn't purchase something. Thank goodness my fellow suggested to get the mortgage loans at banks. Hence, I did so and used to be happy with my student loan.
